Critical.

I might seem really harsh on myself lately, what with all the chubby chatter and now this post.  It's not harsh; it's a realism and introspection creeping up.

Because we know I'm normally like this, anyways.
So, husband came out to the barn on.. Saturday and took some photos.  As a would-be, eventual, hopeful photog, it's a hard place to be in to know that you aren't going to get the best functionality out of your camera in auto but that the person currently using it isn't familiar enough with it to make the minute changes necessary as distance/speed/light/focal point change.  But whatever.  He's my husband and he's fucking awesome at taking photos of me and I love it.  We'll call a couple of these artistic.

I want to be all sunshine and bullshit, but I also want to acknowledge what I can do as a rider to improve my communication with Archie.  (That sentence might become a header!)  Also, I feel like I'm going to have to bite the fucking bullet and take some lessons or beg some trainer/SCAD kid/random person to come out and watch me ride.  Last night, he was a little shit and I didn't help the problem.  :(

A repeat on having no thumbs, but I like that his tongue is out.  It makes me feel like I have adequate contact.

Short-strided, but pretty.

*FYI, since my sense of humor isn't always appreciated:  mostly said in a snarky fashion.  I don't really think I suck that badly, but I did need the reminder that I have to make adjustments periodically.

    1. I need to get video next. And a camera that can take better video. My polaroid's video abilities are questionable.

  3. Haha!! That first picture is great! I always make hubby come out and take pics/videos of me riding. It really helps me figure out how to correct things. I'm also super critical of my riding but I think that's a good thing because I always know there's room for improvement! :)

    1. It's never ending! It's like a video game or something: as soon as you master one thing, you move to another level and there are more challenges and another boss you have to kill.

Thank god for that, too, or Archie would have launched my ass a hundred times.

I'm going to try that old school "crop in the hands" thing tonight and see how it goes.

  5. Pictures don't tell the whole story either! Lessons are great but you can definitely fix thumbs up on your own :)
