I'm such a whore for technology.
I bought iMovie for iPhone for a whopping $5 (actually sorta pricey for an app!) because the bestest laptop in the world didn't come equipped with it. And it's $15 to buy for my Mac.
My sole purpose for purchasing it is because the fence post is my videographer now and no one wants to watch the dust settle until Archie and I come back in the frame.
So here is my first masterpiece, from our grid on Friday. The first two rounds, the vertical is set to about 18" and then about 2' for the third round. I'm officially itching to jump higher. (You can gasp, it's an appropriate response.) I'm also itching for: truck, trailer, and trainer. So Archie and I can do All The Things.
I'll gladly accept any jump set up ideas that involve limited hauling of standards (because lazy) and can be set up in the microring. I pulled this one from Pinterest:

Evention has a lot of short videos with cute ideas :) That is where I pulled my most recent exercise from (minus the trot poles)

ReplyDeleteSo this is what I've decided: we're going to develop a pocket book with a spiral binding and we're going to have a series of grids in it, all prettily colored, that will advance as people advance. And then we'll move on from grids to lines and courses. And we'll be rich.

God that's a long link. It is an AWESOME book, full of exercises, grids and small courses that you could set up in something as small dressage arena. Starts with the basics and gets more complex the further you go through it. Also tells you what skills this exercise will help you develop, how to ride it and how it should feel when you've done it correctly. And it's spiral bound. ;)

You always make me laugh! I hope you enjoy the book! I discovered it thanks to Stacey with our favorite jumping Percheron. She referenced this book a lot when she was first training Klein over fences, which of course meant I had to go out and buy it...hahaha...
DeleteYou could check at your local library to see if they have any horse-related books (by like...Anne Kursinski, George Morris, etc.)- they always have lots of courses and exercises and you could make copies or draw pictures.

BUT! They have one copy of "Anne Kursinki's Riding and Jumping Clinic: a Step-by-Step Course for Winning in the Hunter and Jumper Rings." So.. that's on hold.
Can someone just make me a picture book with courses? The micro-ring is something like 80'x200', I think.
